We're still alive!

I know it's almost been 2 months since I've posted. Honestly, I've been enjoying only working one job. In our new house, we haven't bought a router so we can have wireless Internet yet. So we really don't get on the computer much anymore. When you take away the convenience of being able to be on the Internet anywhere in the house, the Internet seems to not be so important. We are doing good though.
Graduation was great. It's an amazing feeling knowing I finally accomplished something after working at it for so long! 4 days after I graduated, I got a job working as a first grade teacher at a school that's only about 15 minutes from our house. It's a title one school, meaning the majority of the kids qualify for govt assistance. So it will be a real challenge working with. However, i have a huge opportunity to make a difference in so many lives, so I'm very excited!
A few weeks ago we decided to get a dog. His name is Kit. We rescued him from a rescue shelter. He had been abandoned by his prior owners. He is a very sweet dog. He isn't a puppy. They think he is about 4 years old. He's mostly lab with some Chow mix. He is very shy around new people and we're not sure how he's gonna act around kids yet. So far he's only been around a few kids for a short period of time and he was very nervous around them. So we'll work with him and probably put him through obedience school. He is really the perfect dog for us because he doesn't require too much attention and he is pretty laid back. There's nothing like coming home everyday and him going crazy when i walk through the door. He gets so excited!
We made another step towards decorating the nursery. I'm starting to get nervous because we haven't done anything. And we only have 12 weeks before I'm due. I know it sounds like plenty of time but i know it will be here before I know it. So we bought the paint. And it's just sitting in his room ready to be opened. It's just finding the time when Jared and I aren't so tired from a long day at work. We will get it done though. My goal is to have it done before my shower on Aug 2ND.
I can't think of anything else major that's happened since I've posted last. I have lots of pictures to post but that will have to come later.
Oh one more thing... my last appt was on Friday the 13Th. He looks good and is growing. She said he's either gonna be a big baby or a long baby b/c he's measuring about a week and a half ahead. So I'm not sure if that means he'll be early or he'll just be really big. She assured me she won't let me deliver a 10 pound baby. My goal is to just get through the first week of school which is the last week of August. i at least want to meet my kids and let them know who their teacher is instead of them starting off with a substitute. So any time after the first week of Sept, he can come. I'm sure he's gonna come when he's ready. I'm such a planner, I have to come to the conclusion that I can't plan this time. We are getting very anxious though. We appreciate everyone that has kept us in the prayers and will continue to keep us in your prayers.
Pictures coming soon.....

A few pictures

A picture in front of our house.

I don't like this pic of me b/c I look huge! I think the wind was blowing my shirt or something. But Jared looks cute in it so I decided to post it anyway. This was the day after we moved into our new house!

Okay this was taken about 2 1/2 weeks ago so I was about 18 wks. Seems like my belly became round over night. It's so surreal!

We're officially homeowners!

So we moved in last Saturday night. We have so much more stuff than we thought. I'm sure it will only get worse since we have more space to fill and a baby on the way. We bought a fridge and a grill and many other things that we didn't need for an apartment. The boxes are slowly being unpacked and taking up less space. The lovely people who lived there before us left the trash bin completely full so today we put out their trash. Oh and this morning, we didn't have any hot water. We realized that we have a gas water heater. The previous owners must have turned if off yesterday. So that's one more bill we'll have and one more set up and security deposit we have to pay for. But everything will work out. We're having a graduation/housewarming party in a few weeks so I have 2 1/2 weeks to get the house presentable. I'm kinda glad though b/c it gives me a deadline. WE eventually want to paint and decorate but for now, my goal is to get all the boxes un packed.
As for the baby, everything is going fine. I'm feeling more and more pregnant. I started feeling him kick a few weeks ago. It's the weirdest feeling. Every time I feel him, I try to get Jared to feel him too but of course he stops. I'm sure in a few weeks, I'll start feeling him more and it will be easier for Jared to feel him. At my last appt., my blood was drawn to test for downs and spina-bifida (spelling??) I guess no news is good news because they haven't contacted me. My next appt is on May 15th. I can't believe I'm already half way through this pregnancy! I can't wait to meet our little guy! We have a few clothes hanging in his room and a few other baby things. It's so strange to think that we're gonna bring a baby home in 4 months!
Oh and I have less than 3 weeks of school left. Graduation is on May 10th. I can't wait. Next Thursday is my last day at the elementary school. Then we get to be with the other interns to do graduation stuff and seminars and blah blah blah. It's almost over. After 9 years of school, it's almost all over!
Well, I think that is about all (as if there's not enough going on). I'll post some pics soon of my growing belly and some sono pics. My cord to transfer the pics to the computer is somewhere in a box. So who knows when I'll get around to posting them. Hope all is well with everyone.

It's a boy!!!!

So we're having a little football player. It was clear as day. We are so thrilled. Jared was soooo excited. Of course I am too. I really thought since I really wanted a boy, I would be having a girl. But i was wrong and we're getting what we want. A girl would've been great too but I've always wanted a boy first. We had to wait 2 hours because when we got there, the Dr. had to go deliver a baby. But it was worth the wait! So now, we'll have to paint a room in our new house. Oh well. We'll probably just leave the pink room just in case we have a girl one day. So the planning can begin. It still seems so unreal. We are both so excited. Just wanted to share our good news.

We're buying a house!!!

So we finaly agreed with the seller of the house we made the offer on. After going back and forth and counter offering their counter offer and agreeing on closing dates, we are buying a house. It's 1750 sq ft with 4 bedrooms and 2 bath. There's a dining room and a living room. The back yard is kinda small but oh well. The carpet and walls are perfect so we really don't have to do anything to it. And one of my favorite things is, they already have a pink room. So if we find out we're having a girl, we'll already havea pink room and won't have to paint. Otherwise, our guest room might be pink! So we are thrilled to have our own house and our own space. It really hasn't been that bad at my parents but we have no room for anything. So on April 16th we are closing and moving in on the 20th. I cannot wait! I'm a little bummed that I cant do alot of moving but I guess I can move the little stuff and unpack and point where everything goes! Whoopi... I can't wait. Now we just need a car and we'll be all ready for our little angel.

Nothing New

So finally our life has settled down a little bit. We're still looking for a house and a car but we haven't added anything new. So I'm very thankful about that.
House news:
We didn't get the house we bid on. But we were okay with that. We kinda have the attitude that whatever is suppose to happen will and the right house will fall in our lap. We're making an offer on one today. I know it sounds weird but I hope we get it because the familly seems like a really nice family. They've kept the house very clean and up to date. It's not as big as the other we bid on but it will be a great starter house. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Car news:
We're having a bit of a problem with the whole car deal. Since we only had the van for a couple of weeks, we didn't have the title yet. So the ins. company is ready to give us the check for the van but we have to give them the title first. And we don't have it. So that's the hold up. Luckily they gave us a rent car for two weeks. So we have two weeks to get the title, get the check and buy a car! The rent car I have it very nice though. They gave me a pathfinder. It's so nice. I don't want to give it back. It's way out of our price range though. So I guess I'll just have to enjoy it for a few weeks and give it back.
Baby news:
The baby seems to be fine. I'm starting to feel like Im pregnant. Up until a few weeks ago I really didn't feel much different. But I'm feeling some changes now. I cant wait until I can feel the baby kicking. I know that will be an amazing feeling! I guess I have a while until that will happen. We go back in just 2 weeks and hopefully we'll be able to say he or she instead of it.

Well, I just wanted to update everyone on what's going on. I hope everyone is blessed and thanking God for is each and everyday!
I'm thankful I'm on vacation next week from work and school. Yeah!!!!!
