Well we've had a busy week. Jared started us off being sick. Then Colt had an ear infection and then I had some kind of bug that gave me a fever. But we're all feeling better now. We went to a birthday party today for twin girls that just turned a year old. It was fun watching them interact. Colt is rolling all over the place. I can set him down in one place and he'll end up across the room cause he keeps rolling or scooting. It's so fun to watch how he does something different everyday. I'm sure he'll be crawling before I know it. Sleeping with daddy Happy boy I don't like to wear party hats... I like to eat them Uh Oh mama caught me! Grammy and Grandad loving on me

First Ear Infection

So I took Colt to the Dr. yesterday. He has been congested for about a week now. Last week he had some diarrhea and loss of appetite (and that's a big deal for him). But I thought maybe he was just teething. But yesterday his babysitter called me at work to tell me he was running a fever so i decided to take him just to be safe. When we got there I felt like a paranoid mom because he didn't have a fever. The Dr. looked at him and said he looked like he was feeling okay and he didn't have a fever. But then he looked in his ear and sure enough that's what it was. So he's on antibiotic for 10 days. He also gave me a medicine for his congestion. So last night he slept all night. He hasn't been really fussy... just a little more than usual. So hopefully tonight he'll sleep all night again. That would be amazing! Still no teeth though. We'll see if any pop up soon, but for now he's still toothless!

Things are going good. The dog is just like another child. But he's sweet and fun to have around. Colt is doing good. He's growing and doing something different everyday it seems. For Valentines day my parents watched Colt so Jared and i could go out to dinner. We had a great time at Edohana. My mom had a great time with him. He rolled over but she turned her head and didn't see it. So nobody has actually seen him roll over yet. He won't do it while i'm watching! Oh well, I know he will eventually. His 6 month appt is coming up. Almost half a year! I can't believe it! Well here's a few pictures

When I walked away the burp rag was beside him. This is where it was when I came back! He likes to cover his head with things and play hide-and-seek

We're growing up!

So I decided to go ahead and start baby food. He is eating 8 oz and sometimes 10 oz of cereal every night. I think my Dr. wanted us to wait until 6 months but I don't think most 5 month old babies weigh 18lbs. So we are starting with peas. Wow, I"m glad I don't have to eat those. I hate peas. I thought I'd share a picture. Hope you enjoy. We sure did!

Our new family member

I know it didn't take long but we decided to get another dog. It's just too sad in our house without one. So we didn't start out our day today thinking we were going to come home with a dog but that's what happened. We actually are looking for another car. We sold mine last week and are looking for another one for Jared to drive. I'm driving his truck so we're looking for something for him to buy. So we drove all the way to Fort Worth but didn't end up getting the car. On the way back I thought we should stop and just look at the dogs at the Dallas Aninal Shelter. So we found a perfect (so we thought) dog. His name is Dex and he's about 3 yrs old. He's alot calmer than alot of the ones that were there. He's a Pointer mix. He is so cute. So we decided to adopt him. He did great in the car on the way home. Colt loves him. Dex stuck his face in colt's face and Colt just laughed. So we brouhgt him home and let him in the backyard for a while. Well, I let him back in and he started smelling all around the house. Jared thought he better go back outside but I thought he was just getting to know his new home. Well, needless to say, Jared was right. So I don't know if he really just isn't potty trained or if he could smell Kit and wanted to "mark his spot". So we will be leaving him in the backyard when we're gone until we know he is potty trainined. He is a cutie though. On another note, Colt went to the Dr. yesterday. He weighed 18.3! Wow, he's getting so big! The Dr. was impressed with his progress but still wants us to do the dilating. He gave us a bigger one! But the good thing is, colt doesn't cry much when we do it. I guess it doesn't hurt him as bad anymore. So we will go back in about a month. Okay so here's a few cute pictures of our new family member.

On our way home from the shelter

He already knows how to sit,lay down, and shake! (but I guess he doesn't know where to go to the bathroom)

This is what colt thought of him when we were on our way home

We wore him out. He was so sleepy

Bye Kit

So our sweet dog is now in doggie Heaven. For a few months now, we've noticed a lump in his throat. It had gotten alot worse in the past few weeks. He started losing weight and running into things. So we took him to the vet on Saturday and found out he had lymphoma. So he was starting to suffer because it had spread to his eyes and he couldn't eat. So Jared took him on Monday and had him put down. He was such a good dog.. I don't know if we'll ever find another dog as good as him. I'm glad I have a husband that was willing to take him because I don't think I could've done that myself. We didn't have him for very long but he was starting to become part of our family. But he was suffering so I know we did the right thing. Here's a few pictures of our sweet Kit.
